Welcome to ALP!
Augustine Literacy Project (ALP) is dedicated to improving the reading, writing, and spelling skills of young, aspiring readers in under-resourced communities. We achieve this by providing free, long-term, one-on-one instruction from highly trained tutors.
We recruit, train, and support volunteer tutors who deliver research-based, effective literacy instruction, both in-person and virtual.
Our tutors work primarily with first through third graders in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Title I elementary schools.

“My ALP Tutor has proved to be the BEST tutor I have ever experienced. I have taught 20 years and I would take her and this program over any other tutoring program I have worked with in my years of teaching. I couldn’t be more thankful for this program and what you do to help students.”
